Bronx Network:
Collaborative Schools
For more than 30 years, Good Shepherd has partnered with the New York City Department of Education (DOE) to find new and innovative ways to help vulnerable young people to complete their educations. In our two collaborative high schools in the Bronx, Good Shepherd has taken a leadership role in shaping the school community and creating more positive outcomes for the students who attend.
Bronx Community High School (BCHS)
BCHS is part of the GSS transfer school network and is the third replication of our successful model. Operated in equal partnership with the DOE, BCHS officially opened in September 2007 and provides full-day academic program and support services to 200 youth.

The School for Community Research and Learning (SCRL)
SCRL is part of the New Century Small School Initiative which requires all schools to have a community based organization or cultural institution as a lead partner. Good Shepherd Services, as the lead partner, serves as a member of a leadership team to enhance and develop the learning environment and culture of the school. Good Shepherd’s major focus is to provide advisement and technical support in the development and sustainability of the After-School Program; the Advocate Graduate Program, which matches each student with an adult support person; the Internship Program; and the Student Government.
