GOOD SHEPHERD SERVICES

Bronx Network:
Programs for Court Involved Youth

For those youth who have already become involved with the juvenile justice system, we offer services to reconnect them with school and the community and help them to develop more positive relationships with both their peers and adults.  For more information about our residential programs for court involved youth please click here.

LIFE Transitions Program

The LIFE program aims to provide youth who are in secure juvenile detention with the building blocks they'll need to achieve self-sufficiency and avoid a return to custody.

LIFE staff members begin working with participating youth while they are still in custody.  The young people participate in weekly workshops that help them to identify their educational and career goals and learn the life-skills necessary to achieve them.

When youth are released from detention, we work to help them successfully reenter the community.  LIFE staff provide case management services by connecting the youth and their families with support services, school re-enrollment and a variety of other neighborhood resources to help youth further develop life and work skills.  Our staff also provide young people with ongoing weekly workshops and groups to enhance the participants' job-readiness skill development.  Young people who successfully complete the workshops may also be eligible to participate in paid internships.
