Transfer High Schools
Transfer Schools are small, academically rigorous, diploma granting high schools serving students, between the ages of 16 and 21, who have dropped out or become truant from their original schools at some point after enrolling in the 9th grade.
Our Schools
Good Shepherd operates three transfer schools in equal partnership with the New York City Department of Education (DOE) – two in Brooklyn, and one in the Bronx. Based on our nationally recognized model, our three schools provide a full-day, year-round academic program that integrates the intensive support services, youth development practices and expertise of Good Shepherd with personalized, standards-based instruction provided by the DOE teachers. We create a seamless learning environment that both supports students and promotes success. And the individualized attention students receive, both inside and outside the classroom, helps them to overcome the personal issues that previously served as roadblocks to earning a high school diploma.
