ERAP Registration<\/a><\/p>\nEAST NEW YORK \u2014 On Friday, August 27th from 11 AM to 3PM Good Shepherd Services will host an End of Summer, Back to School Block Party at the Prince Joshua Avitto Community Center, in partnership with the Caribbean Women Health Association, Pouvwa Ti Moun, NYPD explorer program, and Man Up, comprising a free school supplies giveaway, a resource fair, and end-of-summer celebration all-in-one.<\/p>\n
The end-of-summer celebration will have catered BBQ food, a live DJ, face painting, inflatable games, balloon animals, cotton candy and snow cones, for families and kids to enjoy before heading back to school on September 13th. The event will also host a raffle giveaway for two laptops, one tablet, a comforter set, and an air fryer; all attendees who register for programs will have their names entered into the raffle.<\/p>\n
As a part of the resource fair, Good Shepherd Services will be providing free application assistance, education, and outreach for ensure that housing-insecure individuals can effectively access New York State\u2019s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). Additionally, Pouvwa Ti Moun will be accepting donations for Haiti relief, in light of the 4.5 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti on August 22nd, and the Caribbean Women Health Association will be speaking about vaccinations to educate and raise awareness in the community.<\/p>\n
