{"id":4737,"date":"2019-07-01T17:22:01","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T17:22:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/goodshepherds.org\/?p=4737"},"modified":"2019-07-03T14:41:40","modified_gmt":"2019-07-03T14:41:40","slug":"4737-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodshepherds.org\/4737-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Shepherd barber program preps youth for careers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the back of a brick building on Blake Avenue in East New York, the sounds of buzzing clippers and good-natured banter fill the room on most mornings.<\/p>\n<p>The place isn\u2019t a barbershop, though, it\u2019s a school\u2014part of a program designed to help local youth embark on new careers as barbers.<\/p>\n<p>The center is run by Good Shepherd Services, a nonprofit dedicated to youth in low-income New York City neighborhoods.
