Good Shepherd Services, a New York City based non-profit that helps struggling youth and family members in challenging environments overcome their greatest challenges, on Tuesday held its inaugural Holiday Toy and Blanket Giveaway at the Prince Joshua Avitto Community Center in East New York.

The organization gave away more than 500 toys, sweatshirts and blankets to hundreds of East New York families, thanks to a donation from Rabo Bank.

“Every child deserves the joy that comes with a gift during the holidays, and we’re glad that we were able to provide that to so many young people and families across the community,” said Michelle Yanche, executive director of Good Shepherd Services.
