Good Shepherd Delivers Over 10K Worth of Holiday Gift Cards to 385 NYC Families

EAST NEW YORK— This month, Good Shepherd Services (GSS) marked the start of the holiday season with its annual holiday gift drive, this time in pandemic-appropriate contact-less fashion. With generous support from partners including Atlas Search, Foster Pride, High Water Women, Geller & Company, SECOR, Deloitte, and others, GSS distributed over $10 thousand worth of gift cards — $40 for each member of the participating families in GSS community-based, residential and foster care programs. Nearly 200 program participants in Brooklyn, 85 in Manhattan, and 100 in the Bronx received the gift cards.

“The holidays are a time of celebration, but this year, following the stress of the pandemic, so many families are just trying to make ends meet, said Michelle Yanche, Executive Director of Good Shepherd Services. “We hope this gift card drive will help families and young people this holiday season by reducing the daily financial burdens they face, so they can focus on the joy of the holidays with their loved ones. I want to thank all of our partners for their generous donations, which made this event possible.”

As one of the largest providers of youth services in New York City, Good Shepherd Services serves over 30,000 children and families each year and provides an array of youth and family programming focusing on family, education, housing, and youth justice for the New York City community.
