Our Programs
Community Centers | Red Hook, Stuyvesant Heights, University Heights/Morris Heights
Like our Beacon programs, Cornerstone programs help foster a greater sense of community by offering year-round activities for children, youth, adults, and seniors. All Cornerstones are located within New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) developments and include after-school programs and summer camps for children and teens, recreational activities for youth, family events, and adult programs like workforce development, computer classes, and GED preparation that help advance a family’s economic opportunities and livelihood.
Cornerstone programs help build a strong community and enables residents to get to know one another and become involved in community efforts. To achieve this, all of our Cornerstone programs have an advisory board comprised of neighborhood residents and volunteers who meet on a monthly basis to provide guidance and help with community outreach.
