After-school and summer camps | Bronx, Bushwick, Soundview

Good Shepherd Services high school after-school programs are designed to help students succeed by providing additional support to their regular school day.

At our Bronx Bridges high school program, students receive mentoring and individual counseling supports through a partnership with Ernst and Young and the District Attorney’s office. Participants receive either one-on-one or group mentoring in addition to participating in career exploration, work readiness, and life-skills development workshops as well as cultural and social activities. The program promotes mutual trust and respect; stability; and positive reinforcement for all participants.

The after-school program runs five days a week and includes martial arts, cooking class, music, sports, tutoring (homework and Regents help), dance, and art. We organize large events including student showcases, holiday celebrations, and family fun nights. Lastly, we provide parent support groups in which parents can discuss student academic success and parenting strategies.
